北京大学新结构经济学研究院是中国第一个以社会科学自主理论创新为宗旨的机构，其前身为北京大学新结构经济学研究中心，由世界银行前首席经济学家兼高级副行长林毅夫教授创办于2015年12月，是国家首批高端智库试点单位之一。新结构经济学将不同发展程度国家结构的异质性和内生性引进以发达国家的结构为暗含结构的现代经济学理论体系之中，北京大学新结构经济学研究院积极推动新结构经济学理论创新的深化、政策实践、人才培养、国际交流等方面的工作。自亚当•斯密出版《国富论》以来，世界经济中心即是世界经济学的研究中心、引领经济学理论新思潮的大师辈出的中心，北京大学新结构经济学研究院诚挚邀请有志于抓住中国经济发展所给予的时代机遇，推动新结构经济学理论创新深化的经济学家加入。

The Institute of New Structural Economics at Peking University is China's first institution aiming at independent theoretical innovation in social sciences. Its predecessor is the Center for New Structural Economics at Peking University. Founded in December 2015 by Professor Justin Yifu Lin, former chief economist and senior vice president of the World Bank, it is one of the first pilot units of high-level think tanks in the country. New structural economics introduces the heterogeneity and endogeneity of structures of countries at different development levels into the modern economic theory system, which takes the structures of developed countries as the implied structures of its theories. The Institute of New Structural Economics at Peking University actively promotes the deepening of theoretical innovation, policy practice, student education and international exchanges in new structural economics. Since Adam Smith published "The Wealth of Nations", the world economic center has been the research center of economics in the world and a center from where masters who lead new theoretic trends in economics comes.
