Position Title:

Post-Doctoral Fellow - Chemical and Biological Engineering

The Opportunity:

A postdoctoral fellow position is available in Professor Anuj Chauhan's research group to continue the research program focused on developing contact lenses for treating ophthalmic diseases including cystinosis. The successful candidate is expected to work with our collaborators for in vivo experiments and with eternal partners including Cystinosis Ireland.

Responsibilities:

Design vitamin E and drug loaded contact lenses.

Measure release of ophthalmic drugs from contact lenses.

Supply drug and vitamin E loaded contact lenses to collaborators for in vivo studies

Prepare reports for the funding agency

Prepare manuscripts for peer-review publications

Present research at conferences and symposiums

Assist in writing research grants

Serve as mentor to graduate and undergraduate students

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD. In Chemical Engineering or related field. All PhD requirements should be completed by the time work commences.

Previous research experience in one or more areas of biomaterials, drug delivery, modeling, contact lenses, ophthalmology.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in biomaterials and drug delivery. Any experience with ophthalmic drug delivery is preferred but not required.

Pay Range:

Mines is offering an academic year salary of $50,000 - $63,000

Mines takes into consideration a combination of candidate's education, training and experience as well as the position's scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, work location, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees.
