德国奥尔登堡大学2021年招聘博士后职位(纳米材料)
Postdoctoral Research (M/F/D), E13
Carl Von Ossietzky University Of Oldenburg
Description
The Quantum Biology and Computational Physics Group (Department of Physics) at the University of Oldenburg offers one
postdoctoral researcher-position(m/f/d)
(TV-L E13 / 100%)
in the collaborative research project Simulations meet experiments on the nanoscale: Opening up the quantum world to artificial intelligence (SMART) for the duration of the project until 31.01.2024
The overall aim of the project is to develop the concepts and tools that would allow taking advantage of digitalization to investigate light-matter interaction in nanomaterials using state-of-the-art theoretical and experimental methods. The specific goals of this project are:
(1) Implement an efficient digital interface unifying the output of ultrafast spectroscopy measurements and ab initio simulations. The interface should permit analyzing large amounts of raw experimental data produced through pump-probe setups and computational results obtained through different theoretical methods available in this project.
(2) Design user-friendly visualization tools to access the quantum world and facilitate knowledge transfer also beyond the academic/scientific community. The to-be-developed interface is seen as a web-based cloud interface for quantum calculations that will be used to visualize the motion of charges in nanomaterials and biological systems featuring electron transfer dynamics on different time scales. (3) Develop multi-scale computational workflows to investigate and analyze light-matter interaction on the nanoscale.
Requirement for employment is that the applicant should have a qualifying university degree (diploma or master) and a PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (or related fields) and a strong interest in basic research in a collaborative research environment. We require very good mastering of English reading and writing. The candidate must have a solid background in programming such as C++, Java-script and Python. Knowledge of GPU programming, supercomputing experience, Linux administration (particularly Docker) is considered to be an advantage. The successful candidate should have expertise in at least four of the following topics: (1) many-body perturbation theory; (2) time-dependent DFT; (3) QM/MM simulations; (4) electronic structure calculations; (5) theoretical foundations of spectroscopy; (6) charge transfer dynamics.
Our group is located at the University of Oldenburg, Germany, and are part of several collaborative centres of excellence including the Research Training Group (RTG) Molecular Basis of Sensory Biology and SFB 1372 Magnetoreception and navigation in vertebrates: from biophysics to brain and behaviour. These collaborations will give you access to a very wide range of superb modern equipment, techniques and expertise. You will become part of a larger team working closely together on related questions. For more information about our group, see https:// www. quantbiolab.com.
The University of Oldenburg is dedicated to increasing the percentage of female employees in the field of science. Therefore, female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. In accordance with Lower Saxony regulations (§ 21 Section 3 NHG) female candidates with equal qualifications will be preferentially considered. Applicants with disabilities will be given preference in case of equal qualification. Full-time positions can be also turned into part-time ones.
Please send your application (including cover letter, CV, list of publication and statement of research interest, names and phone numbers of at least two personal references) preferred as onepdf-file to ilia.solovyov@uni- oldenburg.de.
All applications received before the 14 th of February 2021 will be considered.
