丹麦奥胡斯大学2020年招聘博士后职位(非晶态材料相关领域)
The Amorphous Materials Laboratory (amoLab) at the Department of Chemistry at Aarhus University, Denmark, is seeking candidates for a two-year postdoctoral position. In case further external funding is secured within the academic area and the candidate is assessed obviously qualified for, an extension is possible for up to a total maximum of 4 years of employment as a postdoc.
The amoLab has strong research activities in synthesis and characterization of novel amorphous materials for technological innovations. The research focus areas are phase-change materials for future memory devices, and amorphous metals (metallic glasses) for structural and functional applications. The present postdoc position is aimed at applying advanced X-ray/neutron scattering and the state-of-the-art thermal analytical techniques to understand their atomic-scale structures and relevant properties. The candidate is required to have hands-on experience in synthesis/fabrication and characterization of novel amorphous materials as well as theoretical knowledge of glass and liquid science.
Starting date: Dec.1, 2020 or as soon as possible.
Place of work: Department of Chemistry, Langelandsgade 140, DK-8000 Aarhus C, Denmark.
The successful candidate will be involved in materials research in collaboration with other members of the Department of Chemistry and the Villum center on Dynamic Crystallography. The candidates must have a PhD (or be at the final stage towards the PhD degree) in chemistry, physics, materials science, or related fields.
The Department of Chemistry at Aarhus University (www.chem.au.dk) is one of the leading European chemistry departments with a broad research programs. It has a permanent staff of ~30 full and associate professors, a support-staff of ~30 people, ~150 PhD students and postdocs and around 500 students. The Villum center is affiliated with the Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center (iNANO) (www.inano.au.dk) as well as the Aarhus Center for Integrated Materials Research (iMAT) (www.imat.au.dk). iMAT integrates a diverse range of basic and applied materials research areas across departments and centers and thereby strongly contribute to solving some of the Grand Challenges of modern society.
Aarhus University was founded in 1928 and is a top research university in Denmark. It has been consistently ranked as one of the top universities in the world. It was ranked No. 60 in the Shanghai ranking (2019) and among the world’s 100 best universities in 15 out of 48 subjects in the QS World University Rankings by subject.
