加州大学洛杉矶分校癌症研究所2020年博士后职位招聘(癌症方向)
The Treatment Resistance Team led by Professor Gerhardt Attard within the UCL Cancer Institute focuses on studying treatment resistance in advanced urological cancers and has been integrating circulating cell-free DNA genomic, transcriptomics and epigenomics with functional studies to track tumour clone dynamics in patients progressing through multiple lines of treatment.
The project will focus on interpreting genomic, epigenomic and transcriptomic data from plasma samples and tumours from clinically-relevant prostate cancer cohorts. Taking the advantage of carefully annotated clinical follow-up data collected in prospective randomized clinical trials, we aim to discover novel markers for patient stratification to introduce into clinical practice in order to improve the outcomes of advanced cancer patients.
The post holder will work in a multidisciplinary team and be responsible for the analysis and interpretation of next generation sequencing data, to identify genomic aberrations.
The post will also involve working with other computational biologists in the team analyzing genomic, epigenomic, transcriptomic NGS and array-based data.
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Research Fellow with computational expertise to join the Treatment Resistance Team. The post is full-time, funded for 1 year in the first instance.
Applicants must have, or be studying towards, a PhD and should have demonstrable research experience in the analysis of genomic and transcriptomic computational data and excellent programming and scripting skills. Experience of working in a Linux/UNIX environment and scripting is essential.
Excellent organisational and communication skills are essential. Applicants must also have an interest in interpreting NGS data to interrogate treatment resistance and develop tests that can be clinically implemented to improve patient outcomes.
The applicant must have, or be studying towards a PhD, or equivalent experience. Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD: if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at research assistant Grade 6B (salary £31,479 - £33,194 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis.
